Busy September!

After my last blog post I have been so busy preparing for my son’s baptism and completely forgot about this blog. Then after his baptism I returned to work from my maternity leave. It was so hard for me to leave my baby at home, but I’m at ease because my mom and brother are taking good care of him while I’m still looking for a yaya.

Going back to work was really difficult at first. My shift was horrible and I barely slept. I’m glad I’ve gotten used to it and I’m happy that I still get to breastfeed my son. He’s now three months old, by the way!

I’m so in love with his smile!

So anyway, I’m working on a separate blog post for my son’s baptism and our suppliers. I believe that first-time moms like me would appreciate such information. It may be quite lengthy as I want to be as detailed as possible about the entire experience and supplier reviews. Please look forward to it!

What People Never Told Me About Newborns

You’ll notice that it has been a while since my last entry. Well I thought I could manage blogging while taking care of my newborn baby.. I was so wrong!

The last two months have been exhausting, but I’m glad I have adapted well. I’m quite sure though that there will be a lot more challenges along the way and I’m trying to stay as positive as I can to get through everything.

I guess things would have been easier if someone at least told me what to expect in the first few weeks. Sure, I was occasionally told about losing sleep but there’s so much more to sleepless nights and diaper changes.

Here are a few things that people never told me about newborns.

Welcome to The Clueless Mom

The Clueless Mom.

I cannot think of anything else that could best describe my position right now. So before I let you in on the musings of “The Clueless Mom”, let me tell you a bit more about myself.

I gave birth to my son Ethan last month. Though he was from my second pregnancy, he is my “first baby”. I lost my daughter from my first pregnancy back in 2011, but I’ll leave that story for another day.

So yeah, I am a new mom – a clueless mom. I have never taken care of a baby before. Unlike most people, I never got the chance to take care of a baby nephew or niece since I am the first from my siblings to have a baby. Though my mother and aunt are here to help me out, they haven’t taken care of a baby in years!

If you are a new mom like me, I guess you can imagine what I’m going through. However, I’m pretty sure you’ll agree that the joy of having a mini version of you coo, gurgle and smile at you surpasses everything else, including sleepless nights and dirty diapers.

With that said, join me as I enter the world of Motherhood. I’ll be glad to share my stories and booboos along the way, for the benefit of other clueless moms like me. And hey, if you have any tips or advice to share, by all means please feel free to leave your comments.
